Gelato Bucket Hat

This is a PDF crochet pattern for the Gelato Bucket Hat.

The Gelato Bucket Hat is a fun, wavy and colorful crochet hat, perfect for hot summer days, vacations or festivals. Its ripple design makes it a perfect project for using scrap yarn to create a colorful look, or it can be made in a solid color for a subtle effect.

Sizes:

1 (2) 3 (4) – Toddler (Child) Adult Female (Adult Male). Made-to-measure instructions are included on the last page. Sizes 1 (2) 3 (4) fit head circumference of 41–46 (46–51) 51–56 (56–61) cm [16–18 (18–20) 20–22 (22–24) in]. If you are between sizes, size up or use a bigger hook.

Materials:

• 20 (20) 25 (25) g of colors A and C and 10 (10) 15 (15) g of colors B, D and E, or 60 (60) 80 (80) g of one color of Drops Safran (50 g = 160 m [175 yrd]) or other sport weight yarn
• 3 mm hook or hook that meets the gauge

Gauge:

(3 mm hook) 22 sc x 20 rows of sc = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 in]; 12 rounds of sc in the round = 10 cm [4 in] in diameter

Skill level:

Advanced beginner. Skills used: crochet in the round, magic loop, increases. Uses basic stitches: sc, dc, hdc, sl st. The pattern includes lots of photos and videos to guide you through the process.
