About this pattern

This is a graded PDF crochet pattern for the Garter Bow.

The Garter Bow is a cute, versatile crochet accessory with a soft textured look inspired by the knitted garter stitch. It works beautifully as a hair bow but can also be used as a decorative detail on bags, garments or gifts. The pattern uses just measurements, so you can use any yarn weight you want.

Sizes:

Size 1 (2) – Width 14 (16) cm [5.5 (6.3) in], Length 12 (15) cm [4.7 (6) in]. Can also be easily adjusted to a custom size.

Materials:

  • Any yarn (approximately 80 (145) m [87 (159) yds]). The red sample is made with DK weight yarn and a 5 mm hook; the white sample with sport weight yarn and a 4 mm hook.
  • Hook one size bigger than recommended for your yarn
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch markers
  • Knitting needle (optional)

Skill level:

Intermediate. The pattern uses mostly FLO and BLO slip stitches. Written in US terminology.
